Gujarat: Surat Police busts major cybercrime, takes 3 in custody | Crime News
The Surat Police has said that 281 accounts accounts of the accused were also taken hold of, after it busted a major cybercrime in the city. Passports, laptops and other important items of accused have been seized.

Surat: The Surat Police has busted a major cybercrime in the city and arrested three person. It also seized debit cards, laptops and passports from the accused. Apart from these210 cases were also registered against all the accused.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said that 281 accounts accounts of the accused were also taken hold of. Pointing out that the gang members never revealed their full names, he added that sketches of the accused were made based on information that were available to the police.
Two members of the gang were working in Dubai
Sharing further details of the investigation, he added that two members of the gang who were working in Dubai were found based on the sketches. “We identified their passports and got to know that they were in Dubai. They ‘digitally arrest’ victims.” He also appealed the sketches of the accused to be shared with complainants to help in track down the accused. “I appeal to the police to share the sketches with the complainants so that we can find the accused people more easily,” the agency quoted him as saying further.
Gujarat Police uncovered drug trafficking network last month
Last month, the Gujarat Police uncovered a network of drug trafficking operations after a series of raids. It seized a huge quantity of narcotics and took steps against key players in the illicit trade. The Gujarat Special Operations Group (SOG) and Surat police conducted a joint raid on a factory called “Avasar Enterprise” in GIDC area of Ankleshwar. During the operation, the joint team seized 427 kg and 141 gm of methamphetamine (MD) drugs, which were valued at Rs 14.10 lakh. One accused was taken in custody in connection with the case. The seized drugs were then sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for confirmation, the police added.
