Thiruvananthapuram: Former diplomat and Congress MP at the United Nations, Shashi Tharoor said on Tuesday that he is not expected to “get” anything special “from the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting held in a closed room in New York on India-Pakistan tension, as any proposal against Pakistan will be vented by the permanent member of the United Nations Body.

Proposal against India will not be passed

Former diplomat Shashi Tharoor told the news agency ANI that I am confident that UNSC will not pass a criticism of Pakistan as China will veto on it. He said that he will not even pass our criticism resolution because many countries will object to it and probably veto. “

Tight questions asked from Pakistan in UNSC meeting

Shashi Tharoor said that what happened in the UNSC meeting will be known only when a written or formal statement is issued. He said that only the member countries were present in the meeting held in the closed room, due to which it is not known properly what happened in the talks. However, reports show that UNSC members asked Pakistan difficult questions. This meeting was not good for Pakistan at all. Because the member countries of the UN Security Council asked him sharp questions on many issues like terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba.

UNSC will worry about terrorism

On the basis of its information about the functioning of UNSC, Tharoor said that the Security Council will not pass any resolution against India or Pakistan. This will be a call for concern about peace and terrorism in general language. He said that he does not expect any particular thing from the Security Council, whether it is through formal meetings or through informal counseling, which has a direct impact on both countries.

Pakistan itself got stuck

Reports say that the members of the council questioned Islamabad and demanded accountability about the involvement of Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba in the attack. Pakistan is one of the 10 non-established members of the Security Council and was present in the meeting, while India was not present. Tharoor said that under these circumstances, Pakistan must have thought that they had an advantage, but did not happen. On the contrary, many strict questions related to Lashkar-e-Taiba were asked in the meeting with Pakistan.
