‘I am the captain of England, that is India’s problem ..’, Ben Stokes gave two answers about Bumrah
IND Vs Eng 2nd Test: Before the second Test to be played at Edgbaston, England captain Ben Stokes was very strong on the question asked on Jasprit Bumrah and responded to two. He clearly said that when and how much to feed Bumrah, this is the issue of India, we are worried about our team.
England captain Ben Stokes has said a lot about India’s star fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah. Before the second Test, when Mangwal was asked a question about Bumrah’s playing in a press conference held, he replied, “This is the problem of India. They will deal with them. I am the captain of England, I worry about my team.”
Stokes’ statement came at a time when the situation in the Indian camp is not completely clear about the availability of Bumrah. Bumrah has only three Tests out of the five -match series, and he has played in the first match. That is, they can play two matches out of the next four. Coach Ryan Ten Doshet also recently said that Bumrah is fit but when he has to feed, this decision will be taken by looking at the pitch and the need of the team.
Bumrah was India’s most successful bowler in the Headingley Test, but he did not get the same help from the other end. Famous Krishna, Mohammad Siraj and Shardul Thakur were not able to put the same line-length continuously and the England batsmen took advantage of it.
Ben Stokes also praised the combative spirit of the Indian team. He said, “The Indian team always performs hard fight. There is a very passionate team. There is pressure in international sports, but the pressure of playing for India is more than everything else.” Stokes also said about himself that he was tired after the first Test, but now he is fully fit and ready for the second Test. He said, “The previous test was very long, everyone was tired. But now everything is fine and I am ready for tomorrow.”
England waged a target of 371 runs in the Haddingley Test easily. This was his second largest runny in Test history. It is a matter of fun that England’s biggest runage (378 runs) also came to Edgbaston in 2022 against India.
