‘I have no plan to retire yet, I want to win the series in India before retirement’
Australia’s legendary spinner Nathan Lion has no plan to retire from Test cricket. Lion broke the silence on his retirement and made it clear that he is not going to retire now and wants to win one last foreign series in India and England before retiring.
37 -year -old Lion, who is Australia’s most successful off -spinner with 556 wickets in 138 Tests, has taken 130 wickets in 32 Tests (both domestic and foreign) against India, but has never contributed to winning foreign series in India. Australia has not defeated India in its house since defeating India in 2004-05 on his own soil.
During a conversation with Cricket.com.com AU, Lion said, “I have always said that I want to win foreign soil in India. I want to win foreign soil in England. We will get this opportunity in a few years, but we have to play the test rate and ensure that we are doing everything in the West Indies. Talking about Lion’s Test career, he has taken 556 wickets in 138 matches representing Australia.
