Ind vs Eng 2nd Test: Before the second Test between India and England, captain Shubman Gill has given a big update about Jaspreet Bumrah in the press conference. He admitted that Bumrah is fully fit and available, but his workload will decide to play in this match.
The second match of the five -match Test series between India and England will be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham from July 2. Before this match, Team India captain Shubman Gill has said a lot about Bumrah’s fitness and team combination at the pre-match press conference held on Tuesday.
Shubman Gill made it clear that fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah is available for the second Test. However, their playing will depend on how the team management manages their workload. Gill said, “Jasprit Bumrah is definitely available. All we have to see how we manage their workload in upcoming Test matches. We want to choose a combination to take 20 wickets and also score runs on this pitch.”
Significantly, it was already made clear about Jaspreet Bumrah that only three Test matches will be played. Team India coach Gautam Gambhir and bowling coach had earlier also said that the decision to play in every match of Bumrah would be taken by looking at the circumstances and the pitch.
During the press conference, Shubman also expressed confidence in the rest of the bowlers and said, “It is challenging, but we have selected the best 15-16 players in India. We have a good talent pool, and that is why we are able to play good cricket abroad too.” Team India is currently 0–1 in the series and returning to Edgbaston Test will be very important for him. Now it has to be seen whether Jasprit Bumrah becomes a part of the playing XI or not.
