India carried out missile attack.

The Pakistan Army has claimed that the Indian Army has attacked three of its airbase with missiles late at night. It is being claimed that ‘Nurkhan airbase’ has also been destroyed in this attack.

The airbase was established as RAF station Chaklala. It is located in Chaklala, Rawalpindi, Punjab. Until a few years ago, Benazir Bhutto International Airport was part of this airbase. Now it has been closed. Parachute training campaigns were conducted here during World War II. Later it became the transport center of PAF, from where a fleet of various transport aircraft operated. During the 2005 Pakistan earthquake, 300 United States soldiers as well as American aircraft were also deployed in Chaklala to assist in relief efforts. There has been a permanent military appearance in Chaklala since the end of 2001 to handle logistics efforts and other movements regarding war in Afghanistan. In 2009, PAF’s four IL-78 aerial refueling tankers were given the first PAF base Chaklala and the number 10 MRTT (Multi Roll Tanker Transport) squadron was established there. The base was changed from PAF Base Chaklala to PAF Base Noor Khan in 2012. It was earlier kept in memory of Base Commander Air Marshal Noor Khan. Noor Khan was also the second Pakistani head of PAF.
