Earlier in the year 1965, India launched an aircraft at Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase, in which many of their aircraft were destroyed. The airbase is under the Central Air Command and also has a command headquarters. Till 2003 it was known as PAF Base Sargodha. It was later renamed as former Base Commander and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mushf Ali Mir, whose aircraft crashed during a regular flight near Kohat the same year.
