Washington: On June 30, a person of Indian origin Ishan Sharma has been arrested on charges of alleged attack on a co -passenger in the US flight of Frontier Airlines going from Philadelphia to Miami. In the video, a strong clash and scuffle between 21 -year -old Ishan Sharma and co -passenger Kianu Evans, a resident of Newark, are seen. The two are seen to be strangling each other, while other passengers are trying to intervene.
Victim claim: Attack without any provocation
According to the police report, Evans reported that the attack took place despite any provocative action. The victim said that Sharma came to him returning to his seat and suddenly caught his throat. Evans told 7news, “He was doing a strange laughter ha ha ha ha … and was saying, ‘You little and mortal humans, if you challenge me, you will die. Evans said that he was sitting right in front of Sharma. The video filmed by other passengers can see the fight inside the plane.
What was the reason for the quarrel?
Evans said that he was already worried after seeing Sharma’s indifferent behavior and informed the flight attendants while using the toilet. They were advised to press the aid button when the situation deteriorated. When Sharma’s threats continued, Evans pressed the aid button as per the advice, which increased the situation. Evans said, “He was angry with me, hitting the forehead and suddenly he grabbed my throat and started suffocating me. At that time there was a spontaneous response, fight or run and I had no option but to protect myself in that narrow place.”
Accused arrested
Sharma was taken into custody by the police on reaching Miami on charges of attacking the hitchhiker. During the court appearance on Tuesday, Sharma’s lawyer presented a separate version of the development. The lawyer said that the dispute was the result of a misconception about Sharma’s religious attention process. “My clients are from the religion that includes meditation. Vakil told the local media, unfortunately the passenger sitting behind him could not understand it nor appreciate it.” Officials are investigating the incident and reviewing the statements of witnesses of passengers and airline employees along with viral videos.
