IPL 2024: Pakistani legend made big prediction about Kolkata Knight Riders, warned other teams about playoff

Kolkata Knight Riders: The Indian Premier League 2024 has reached its final stage. The league playoff matches will begin on Tuesday. Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first playoff qualifier. The heated exchange between the two sides will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahead of the match, former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram has made a big prediction. He claimed that the KKR team is really dangerous and will reach the final easily.

Akram says KKR will make it to the final

Wasim Akram told Sportskeeda that bowling is the main reason for their current position at the top of the points table. They have bowlers who can get wickets. The team which takes more wickets wins the match. Varun Chakraborty took 18, Harshit Rana 16, Mitchell Starc 12, while all-rounders Sunil Narine and Andre Russell took 15 wickets each. Starc can win the match for KKR on his own. They will approach the final comfortably, confidently and as a dangerous team.

Wasim Akram also praised the batting unit of Kolkata Knight Riders. He said, “So far almost everyone has performed brilliantly.” KKR gave Manish Pandey a chance in one match and he performed brilliantly. This shows that everyone in his team is happy and confident. He has a controlled level of hostility. He is not very confident.

However, the former fast bowler revealed that Kolkata Knight Riders will be without England’s explosive batsman Phil Salt against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He said, ‘There is no doubt that the team will miss Phil Salt.’

Let us tell you that in exchange of Phil Salt, KKR has included Afghanistan’s opening batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the roster. Gurbaz scored 227 runs in 11 IPL matches last season, which included two half-centuries.
