Here are the top debutants to watch out for in the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction which is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24.

New Delhi: The IPL 2025 mega auction will take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The auction is being held in overseas for the second time only. The two-day auction is scheduled to begin at 3 PM (IST) on November 24 and will clash with the third and fourth day of the first Test between Australia and India.
As many as 1574 players registered for the auction but that list has been shortened to 574 players (366 Indian and 208 overseas). Likes of Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin are set to go under the hammer.
The marquee players will go up for bidding first, separated into two groups of six each. After that, the next names to go up are capped players divided into sets based on their specialisation and after that round of uncapped players will follow based on their specialisation. After player No. 116 (subject to timings), the mega auction will enter its accelerated phase, covering all players from 117 to 574.
After that, all the franchises will be asked to submit names of unsold players from the full list who will once more go up for bidding in another accelerated phase. Let’s have a look at players who are making their debut in the IPL auction.
Players making their debut in IPL 2025 mega auction
James Anderson: Former England fast bowler James Anderson has registered for the IPL Mega auction. He has recently retired from Test cricket but remains in superb physical condition. Despite not playing T20 cricket since 2014, his experience will be beneficial for many franchises.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi: Vaibhav is the youngest player in the IPL auction list. The 12-year-old made his first-class debut in January 2024 for Bihar. He was part of India’s U19 match against Australia, where he notched up a century in 58 balls.
Hardik Raj: Hardik played for Shivamogga Lions in Karnataka’s Maharaja T20 Trophy. The 16-year-old scored 155 runs in seven innings, including a half-century. He also picked up seven wickets.
C Andre Siddarth: Siddarth has played for the Chepauk Super Gillies in the Tamil Nadu Premier League and also played in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament this year. He is in great form and scored 38, 66*, 55*, 41, 94 and 78 for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy. He also received a maiden call-up to the India U19 squad for the upcoming U19 Asia Cup, starting on November 30.
