use the right pot

If you are planting a basil plant in a pot, then make sure to choose the right plant. A pot with a wide mouth is preferred for the Tulsi plant. Apart from this, there should be more than one hole at the bottom of the pot so that excess water can drain out and the plant remains moisture free.

Potted basil does not require a lot of water, but during the summer season, you should make sure to water it at least 3 times a day to prevent it from drying out due to extreme heat. Keep watering the plant according to the size of the pot.

Avoid excessive moisture

Basil plants do not thrive in humid conditions. Therefore, it is important to ensure that moisture does not accumulate in the basil plants otherwise the leaves will start falling. You can solve this problem by digging soil at a distance of 15 to 20 cm from the basil plant. When moisture starts appearing in the roots, fill them with dry soil and sand.

prevent fungal infections

You can also mix this powder in the soil to protect from infection. If you are not able to find neem powder, you can also use neem leaves by boiling them in water. To prevent fungal infection, mix this water in the soil every 15 days.
