Kolkata. Kolkata ISKCON Vice President Radha Raman Das on Friday expressed deep concern over the order by Bangladesh financial authorities to freeze the bank accounts of 17 people. These also include the account of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das. Chinmay is lodged in a jail in Bangladesh.

Das, reacting to the targeting of ISKCON by Bangladesh authorities, said how can people associated with ISKCON make a living if they cannot conduct financial transactions for their daily needs for the next 30 days.

Bangladesh Bank’s Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) in an order to various banks and financial institutions on Thursday suspended all types of transactions in these accounts of 17 people associated with ISKCON for a month.

It is noteworthy that Chinmoy Krishna Das is a former member of ISKCON. It is a Hindu Vaishnava religious organization. Today for the second day in the city, ISKCON sadhus protested in front of their headquarters on Albert Road, chanting the name of Shri Krishna with drums and drums. They were carrying placards that read, ‘We are not terrorists and stop repressive measures against minority communities including Hindus.’

Radha Raman Das alleged that Bangladeshi authorities were trying to target ISKCON by branding it a terrorist organization. He claimed that many ISKCON branches in rural areas of Bangladesh were targeted which were not properly reported.
