Jammu: Police arrested three people in heroin smuggling
Let us tell you that Gandhinagar police has arrested three people on charges of smuggling of drug heroin. A total of 21 grams of heroin was recovered from the accused.
Along with this, a case was registered under the NDPS Act in the police station against Suresh Kumar resident of Gadigarh, Jugal Kishore resident of Sunderbani and Narayan Sharma resident of Panjtirthi who were caught on charges of heroin smuggling.
According to the information, Gandhi Nagar Police (Jammu Police) set up a block near Shastri Nagar Nag Devta Park. During this time, the Creta car (PB70D-0044) passing by was stopped for investigation. Instead of stopping at the checkpoint, the driver increased the speed of the car and started running away from there. The police personnel did not allow the car to escape after breaking the blockade.
During the search, drug heroin-like powder was found in the pockets of all three.
When the three youths in the car were taken down and searched, drug heroin-like powder was recovered from their pockets. All three were taken into custody by police personnel and taken to the police station for questioning. Police also recovered an electronic weighing machine for weighing heroin from the car of the accused.
SHO Gandhi Nagar Pankaj Sharma says that information is being obtained from the youth arrested on charges of drug trafficking about their network. They are being asked to find out from where they had brought the heroin and to whom they were going to give it.
