The devotee should wake up in the morning and take a holy bath. After this take a pledge to fast. Then clean your house and temple thoroughly. Install the idol of Lord Bhairava on an altar. Apply sandalwood tilak. Offer fruits, sweets etc. Light a mustard oil lamp in front of God and recite Kaal Bhairav Ashtak with devotion. End your puja with aarti.
