Kerala News: According to medical experts, 'Hepatitis A' is an infection that spreads from one person to another. This disease spreads very fast among people, hence it is very important to know its symptoms and treatment, so let us know.

Kerala News: Hepatitis A is a disease which can lead to death of a person, but by getting it treated on time, one can easily get rid of this disease. Meanwhile, news has come that the risk of Hepatitis A has increased in Kerala, due to which an alert has been issued in the state. Alert has been issued in four districts of Kerala – Malappuram, Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Thrissur.

State Health Minister Veena George told the press, “Instructions have been issued to strengthen grassroots level action plans in these districts.” Hepatitis cases have been on the rise in Kerala since January this year and so far there have been 12 deaths related to the highly contagious liver infection.

Danger of 'Hepatitis A' increases in Kerala

According to the Kerala Health Department, there has been a significant increase in the cases of Hepatitis A in Kerala, which is the highest till date. Let us tell you that Hepatitis A virus (HAV) infects the liver through the fecal-oral route. This disease is mostly caused by consuming contaminated foods and beverages. In such a situation, to control this deadly disease, the Kerala Health Department has called for strict checking of water and food sources.

Symptoms of Hepatitis A

1. Fever

2. loss of appetite

3. Diarrhea

4. nausea

5. abdominal discomfort

6. dark urine

7. Jaundice (yellowing of eyes and skin)

What to do to avoid hepatitis A

1. Wash hands frequently to avoid hepatitis A disease

2. Be careful not to eat anything from outside.

3. Drink clean water, drinking boiled water will prove to be the best.

4. Wash and clean hands thoroughly after using the toilet.

5. If you are seeing any of its symptoms then go to the doctor immediately.
