Astrology News Desk: In Sanatan Dharma, the days of Kharmas are considered very special which occurs twice a year. During this period many rules have to be followed. The first Kharmas of the year falls when the Sun enters Sagittarius and the second falls when the Sun enters Pisces i.e. at the time of Pisces Sankranti. The total duration of Kharmas is one month, during this time no auspicious or auspicious work is done. This time Kharmas is starting from 15th December which will end on 14th January. So today we are telling you about the mythological story related to Kharmas, so let us know.
Mythological story related to Kharmas-
According to the story, once Sun God was revolving around the universe riding on his chariot of 7 horses. But one thing is that their horses need rest. They get tired due to hunger and thirst. In this way, seeing the pitiful condition of the horses while circling the universe, even the Sun God felt pity and thought why not give them water to drink and take some rest, but he realized that if the chariot stopped, the cycle of creation would be affected.
During this time, his eyes fell on two hares grazing on the banks of the pond. Surya Dev thought why not leave the horses for rest and tie these donkeys to the chariot and go around the world. Surya Dev did the same and tied the donkeys to the chariot. Now how can the donkeys compete with the horses, they kept on circling throughout Kharmas but their speed reduced a lot. Due to the slow speed of the chariot, the glory of the Sun God also became weak. This is the reason that during Kharmas, the glory of Sun God is not visible on the earth which is visible in other months. After this, as soon as Makar Sankranti arrives, the weather changes and again the same energetic Sun God appears on earth.
The reason for this is that on the day of Makar Sankranti, Sun God had left those carts back on the banks of the pond and joined his horses back in the chariot and again started its pace. The effect of this was that due to the slow speed of Khar, the speed of rotation of the Sun God slowed down. Somehow the one month cycle was completed. Meanwhile, Suryadev completed the circumambulation at a slow pace. By then the horses had taken rest. A similar cycle continues in every solar year and in the meantime there comes a month of Kharmas. It is believed that the month in which the Sun God is affected will have a negative impact on human life as well.
