At the same time, fraud with SIM card means that you will have to prepare to go to jail immediately. The government has made a big change regarding purchasing SIM cards. The way fraud, crimes and many such crimes are taking place due to fake SIM cards. In view of such frequent cases, the government has made very strict laws regarding SIM cards. These laws have come into effect across the country from December 1.

A fine of Rs 10 lakh can be imposed

The first thing that comes in this is SIM dealer verification i.e. when someone is selling a SIM card, it means that a person is doing the business of selling SIM cards, then he will have to go through verification. While selling the SIM, they will also have to get registered. Also, telecom operators are responsible for police verification. Failure to follow this may result in a fine of Rs 10 lakh.

You can take 9 SIM cards on one ID

After this, demographic data collection i.e. customers who buy SIM cards for their existing numbers will have to submit their Aadhaar and demographic data. SIM card de-activation rules i.e. SIM cards will not be issued in bulk as before. And after deactivating the SIM card, that number will be available to any other person only after a period of 90 days. Also, according to the new rules, a limit has been set on the number of SIM cards. Individuals can obtain SIM cards in bulk only through commercial connections. Apart from this, currently you can buy 9 SIM cards on one ID card.
