Life imprisonment to father guilty of raping minor daughter in Sonbhadra

Sonbhadra. A court in Sonbhadra district in Uttar Pradesh has sentenced a Kaliyugi father to life rigorous imprisonment for raping his minor daughter and inducing abortion by giving her medication.

While hearing the hearing on Tuesday, the court of Additional Sessions Judge/Special Judge POCSO Act Amit Veer Singh found the accused Suresh Kol guilty and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for life and a fine of Rs 3 lakh 15 thousand. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of three months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence. Out of the fine amount, the victim will get Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand.

According to the prosecution, the mother of the victim, resident of a village in Shahganj police station area, had informed in the complaint given in Shahganj police station on 27 April 2023 that her 16-year-old minor daughter was raped by her husband Suresh Kol about 7-8 months ago. . When she came to know about the termination of pregnancy, her husband threatened to kill the mother and daughter, due to which she got scared and did not inform anywhere.

On April 18, 2023, she forcibly administered contraceptive medicine to her daughter, which led to a miscarriage at around 9 pm and a dead child was born, who was thrown into the bush by her husband. Due to fear of her husband and society, she did not give any information, as a result of which, on 26 April 2023, at 3 pm, she found her daughter alone at home and raped her again. On this complaint, the police registered an FIR under Rape and POCSO Act on 27 April 2023 and started investigating the case.

The investigator, after taking the DNA test report and medical report as well as the statements of the witnesses, filed a charge sheet in the court after finding sufficient evidence. During the hearing of the case, the court, after listening to the arguments of the advocates of both the parties and observing the statements and files of 10 witnesses, found the accused Suresh Kol guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3 lakh 15 thousand. Government lawyers Dinesh Prasad Agrahari, Satya Prakash Tripathi and Neeraj Kumar Singh argued on behalf of the prosecution.
