Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister visited the State Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart, Germany
– MoU signed between India and Germany for research on fossils of Triassic era in Satpura region. Bhopal, 29 November (HIST). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is currently on a visit to Germany. On Friday evening, the second day of his stay in Germany, he visited the State Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart. When Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reached the museum, Prof. Dr. Lars Krogman and his team extended a warm welcome. During this period, an important MoU has been signed between the Madhya Pradesh government and researchers from Germany.
Giving information, Public Relations Officer Bindu Sunil said that through the MOU, joint research can be done on the fossils of Triassic era found in Satpura region. This will help Indian and German researchers understand the ecosystem of ancient dinosaurs and their contemporary species. This research will be particularly important for understanding the ecological conditions in which these species were found.
It was told that with the signing of the MOU, new excavations will now be carried out in the Satpura region, through which comprehensive information about the Triassic continental environment and climate can be obtained. The objective of this collaboration is to facilitate the process of excavation, conservation and exhibition of fossils. It will be displayed and published through the State Museum of Madhya Pradesh. Besides, research on these fossils will also be done for global researchers.
It is noteworthy that the Stuttgart State Museum of Natural History was officially established in 1791. It is one of the oldest natural history museums in Germany. It has a huge collection of ancient fossils and remains of dinosaurs. More than eleven million objects are also stored in it.
