In almost every house, potato and cabbage vegetable is prepared and eaten with relish. People of all ages like to eat potato-cabbage vegetable. It is very easy to make like this, you can make it at home in very less time. So let us know about the recipe to make it,

  • Potato – 3-4
  • Cauliflower chopped – 1 cup
  • Tomato – 2
  • Cumin – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
  • Green Coriander – 3 tbsp
  • Green chilli – 2-3
  • Asafoetida – half a pinch
  • Cinnamon – 1 piece
  • Bay leaves – 2
  • Cloves – 3-4
  • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Salt – as per taste

  1. To make potato-cabbage curry, first wash and clean the potatoes. And then peel them and cut them into half inch pieces.
  2. After this, cut cabbage and tomato into pieces. Now prepare a paste of chopped tomatoes, green chillies and ginger with the help of a mixer.
  3. Now put oil in a pan and heat it. After the oil is hot, add cumin and let it fry.
  4. When cumin starts crackling, add chopped potatoes, cauliflower, turmeric powder and salt as per taste and fry the vegetable while stirring for 2 minutes.
  5. After this, cover the vegetable and let it cook for 5 minutes. During this time, slow down the gas flame. Keep stirring the vegetables in between.
  6. Cover the vegetable and cook until the potatoes and cabbage become soft and crunchy.
  7. This may take 15-20 minutes. Keep stirring the vegetables in between.
  8. Now take another pan and add 2 tbsp in it and heat it.
  9. When the oil becomes hot, add some cumin, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and other spices and fry.
  10. After frying for 1 minute, add tomato-chilli-ginger paste and mix well. The spices have to be fried until the oil starts separating from it.
  11. When oil separates from the spices, add 1/2 cup water to it. When the masala starts boiling, add potato-cabbage curry to it and mix.
  12. Now cover the vegetable and let it cook for 5 more minutes. After this add green coriander leaves and then turn off the gas.
  13. Your delicious potato-cabbage curry is ready. It can be served with roti, paratha or rice.
