Good news has emerged regarding mobile exports to India. India has now become self-reliant in terms of smart phones. Mobile-smartphone exports worth $8 billion have taken place in the first 7 months of the current financial year. Most of this is from iPhone. Between April and October, Apple has exported iPhones worth more than $5 billion from India.
Make in India boom
This means that the iPhones made in India that were exported were worth $5 billion. The export of iPhones made in the country has increased by 177 percent compared to the same 7 months last year. Giving this information on social media, Union and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishna said that an increase of 60 percent has been registered in this sector.

Increase in exports of smart phones
He said that during the same period in the last financial year, total exports were worth 4.97 billion dollars, as per the current data, mobiles worth 8 billion dollars have been exported in the same seven months. A growth of 60 percent has been recorded on an annual basis. Ever since the Government of India launched the Production Linked Initiative Scheme, there has been a significant increase in the export of mobile phones.
Apple’s share in smart phone exports increased
Let us tell you that Apple has increased its manufacturing in India in the third year of this scheme. After this, the share of iPhone in smartphones exported from the country seems to have increased significantly. In the first 7 months of the current financial year, the share of iPhone in total smartphones has been 62 percent. In the last financial year this share was 45 percent. India exported smartphones worth $11 billion last year.
These three companies make iPhone in India
When the Modi government announced the PLI scheme of Rs 38,645 crore, Apple started work on manufacturing smartphones in India. After this, it also started exporting iPhones from the country on a large scale. Three companies manufacture iPhones on contract in India, all three are from Taiwan. The names of these companies are Foxconn, Pegatron and Wistron. Foxconn has recently invested heavily in Gujarat, while Wistron has been bought by Tata Electronics.
