Man arrested for threatening to kill Republican presidential nomination candidate Ramaswamy

New York, December 12 (IANS). A man who threatened to shoot and kill Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has been arrested, according to the federal prosecutor's office in New Hampshire.

Tyler Anderson, 30, was charged with threatening to injure a man whom the prosecutor's office identified as a “presidential candidate” without naming Ramaswamy.

“Great, another chance for me to blow his mind,” Anderson said in reference to a political event in Portsmouth, according to the prosecutor's office! And “I will kill all those who took part in this and then (expel) their corpses.”

He will be produced in court later on Monday.

Although the prosecutor did not name Ramaswamy, his campaign was informed of the threat and his spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said, “We are grateful to law enforcement for their swiftness and professionalism in handling this case and to all Americans. Let's pray for safety.”

Documents filed in court by prosecutor Jane Young's office say Anderson also wrote to another candidate, “Great, now I know where to go so I can blow his head off.”

That candidate was not named and no other candidates have spoken publicly about the threat.

Asked by an ABC News reporter last week whether his life was in danger, Ramaswamy said, “We don't take anything lightly, but I'm confident that the team around us and our family will get through this journey together.” But I am praying for my family and my country.”

The prosecutor's office said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) led the investigation into the threats against Ramaswamy.

Ironically, the FBI has been a target of Ramaswamy and he has said he would dismantle it if elected President.

Ramaswamy is running fourth nationally in RealClearPolitics' surveys.

There was no immediately available information about Anderson's political affiliations or his ideology.

In New Hampshire on Monday, Ramaswamy was scheduled to have two lunch break events in Naushua and Manchester.
