Maruti Suzuki is leveraging the strong performance of its SUV lineup to consolidate its position as India’s top SUV maker. As it expands its portfolio, the automaker aims to introduce several new models across different segments in the coming years. Here, information is being given about the upcoming SUVs in Maruti Suzuki’s SUV portfolio.
1. 7-seater Maruti Grand Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce a three-row version of the Grand Vitara. Which is internally called Y17 and is expected to launch in 2025. It will be offered in 6 or 7-seater or both configurations. It is yet to be revealed and this upcoming SUV will be powered by the familiar 1.5 liter hybrid petrol engine which also currently powers the Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider.
2. Maruti Suzuki Micro SUV (Y43)
Maruti Suzuki’s Y43 micro SUV is expected to hit the market between 2026 and 2027, aiming to challenge segment leaders like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Xcent. Positioned below the Brezza in Maruti’s SUV lineup, this compact 5-seater is expected to be powered by a 1.2 liter Z-series petrol engine. Perhaps it can also be launched with hybrid technology. Apart from this, a 1.0 liter turbocharged BoosterJet three-cylinder petrol engine may also be introduced, which will increase its appeal for performance-conscious buyers.
Maruti Suzuki Y43, which is expected to be launched with both manual and automatic transmission options. The top variant is likely to get a number of premium features including six airbags for better safety, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with advanced connectivity options, automatic climate control and a semi-digital instrument console.
3. Maruti Suzuki E Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the production version of the eVX concept, which is scheduled to be launched in early 2025. The EVX, which was unveiled globally in Milan just a few weeks ago, will hit the market as the e-Vitara, a five-seat electric SUV. Manufactured at Suzuki Motor Corporation’s Gujarat facility, the e Vitara is set to offer two battery options, which will boast a driving range of over 500 km. This electric SUV will compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE 6e and Tata Curve EV.
4. Maruti Suzuki Front Facelift
The updated Maruti Suzuki Fronx may arrive in the domestic market next year. According to reports, this facelifted version could be equipped with a highly localized strong hybrid system integrated with the 1.2 liter Z-series petrol engine and will come as the first model from the brand.
