Mercury in SGR minus 2.1 degrees Celsius, Shopian coldest at minus 5.5 degrees Celsius

Jammu and Kashmir: SGR recorded minus 2.1 degrees Celsius, Shopian was the coldest at minus 5.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature across Kashmir has dropped below the freezing point and many stations including Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, have recorded the coldest night of this season. According to the news agency, the night temperature in Srinagar reached minus 2.1 degrees Celsius.

Shopian was the coldest in Kashmir, where the mercury dropped to minus 5.5 degrees Celsius. Famous tourist destination Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 5.0 degrees Celsius, while famous ski-resort Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius.

Notably, meteorologists have predicted back-to-back western disturbances in Jammu and Kashmir from tomorrow evening, adding that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall during the next few days.
