TRAI has released the data of telecom users of March. Once again, Jio, proving their reign, has added most users. At the same time, users of VI (Vodafone-Idea) have decreased again. Vodafone-Idea users also reduced in heavy numbers in January and February data. Even after the launch of VI’s 5G service, the number of users continues to decline. However, government telecom company BSNL has made a good comeback in March.
According to TRAI’s new report, by 31 March 2025, the number of mobile users in India has increased from 115.40 crores to 115.69 crores. Mobile users have recorded a monthly growth of 0.25%. At the same time, the number of total wireless subscribers (mobile + 5G FWA) has also increased from 116.03 crores to 116.37 crore. The total wireless users have also recorded a growth of 0.28%.
Jio’s king
In March, Jio once again added most mobile users to their networks. The telecom company of Reliance Industries has added a total of 21,74,747 new users in March. At the same time, Airtel also added 12,50,758 i.e. 1.25 million new users to their network. Government telecom company BSNL returned to 49,177 new mobile users in the month of March. VI has once again suffered heavy losses. The company has reduced 5,41,377 users. At the same time, the number of MTNL users has also reduced by 2,050.
Whose market share?
According to TRAI’s new report, the market share of private telecom operators in India is 92.04 percent. At the same time, the market share is just 7.96 percent, including BSNL and MTNL. Jio holds 40.60 percent market with 46.98 crore users. At the same time, Airtel has 38.98 crore users and the company has a market share of 33.69 percent. Users of Vodafone-Idea have now reduced to 20.53 crores. VI’s market share is 17.75 percent. BSNL has 9.10 crore users and the company has a market share of 7.87 percent.
Mobile Market Share
Talking about broadband users, the dominance of Jio remains here too. The telecom company has a total of 46.51 crore broadband users. Airtel is also second with 28.07 crore users here. At the same time, VI has 12.64 crore broadband users. According to the March report with government telecom company BSNL, 3.02 crore are broadband users.
