After all, what is Maharaja?
Vijay plays the role of a barber named Maharaja, who goes to the police station to lodge a complaint about his lost ‘Lakshmi’ – a dustbin. Although he is initially not taken seriously and the police send him back, he refuses to leave until they solve the case, after which something else happens. Produced by The Root, Think Studio and Passion Studio, Maharaja also stars Natarajan Subramaniam, Divya Bharathi, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Sachana Namidas, Manikandan and Bharathiraja. After the good performance of the film in China, it remains to be seen how much more it can earn. The Greatest of All Time, Amaran, Vettaiyaan, Indian 2 and Raayan have topped the highest-grossing Tamil films this year.
