He is currently in the UAE with the India U19 squad which is taking part in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup. As India play their first group game against Pakistan on Saturday, Vaibhav was asked about how he is managing the sudden fame and what are his aspirations. When asked how is he dealing with all the hype that he has generated lately, he said, “I’m trying to keep my focus only on the game and not on the social media. My focus right now is the Asia Cup and how to win the trophy.”
Suryavanshi has already started breaking records at this tender age as he has become the youngest player to get a hundred in the U19 level. He was asked how it feels about the fact to which he replied, “I felt quite good as I scored a hundred in the first innings of my debut first-class game. It was a good experience of red-ball cricket.”
Vaibhav’s name isn’t making rounds only in India as he has become a worldwide sensation in cricket. He was also asked about his aspirations going forward as a youngster. “My idol is Brian Lara so I try to replicate my innings like him. Vaibhav and IPL
Vaibhav also broke the record of becoming the youngest-ever signing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. He was picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a sum of Rs. 1.1 crore as the IPL 2025 mega auction made him the youngest crorepati. He hails from Bihar’s Samastipur and represents the state in the domestic circuit. He is currently studying in eighth standard.
Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid believes that the franchise would be able to provide Vaibhav with “a good environment” in the IPL. “I think he’s (Suryavanshi) got some really good skills, so we thought it might be a good environment for him to grow in. Vaibhav just came to our trials and we were really happy with what he saw,” Dravid said on the pick.
