Ghaziabad. Member/Judge Dr. Afroz Ahmed, National Green Tribunal (NGT) Principal Bench, New Delhi visited Ghaziabad district in connection with his official work. Under his chairmanship, the monthly meeting of District Environment Committee, District Ganga Committee and District Tree Plantation Committee was organized at Ganga Guest House, Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad. District Magistrate Ghaziabad, Divisional Director Social Forestry Division Ghaziabad, Municipal Commissioner Municipal Corporation, GDA Secretary, Chief Development Officer, Additional Police Deputy Commissioner Crime and nominated members of District Environment Committee, District Ganga Committee and District Plantation Committee were present in the meeting. During the discussion on the agenda points related to the District Environment Committee in the meeting, regarding Group-4 in Ghaziabad district, the Regional Officer, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board informed that the orders passed under Group-4 are being strictly complied with. . During the discussion about the District Environment Plan in the meeting, the Chairman was informed that the District Environment Plan has already been uploaded on the portal of upecp.nic.in. A draft was handed over by the Municipal Commissioner to Member/Judge Sir Dr. Afroz Ahmed regarding the details of the efforts being made at the Municipal Corporation level in Ghaziabad district regarding the improvement of air quality in the district. During the meeting, information about STPs was sought, in which it was informed that a total of 10 STPs are operational in Ghaziabad district.

While discussing about the District Ganga Committee, the Chairman was informed about the District Ganga Plan by the District Project Officer, District Ganga Committee and while telling about the two-day workshop organized for the District Ganga Plan at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. Informed about its key points like the stakeholders to be included in the formulation of the District Ganga Plan and their roles and after which action is being taken on the Ganga Action Plan. In the meeting, instructions were given by the Chairman that the survival of the plantation done in the Plant Trees, Save Trees Jan Abhiyan year 2024-25 should be maintained as per the standard. After the discussion, the Chairman visited the water treatment plant installed in the campus.
