Islamabad: Pakistan will handle the UN Security Council on Tuesday for July 2025. The government media of the country has given information about this. The security council chaired by Pakistan is part of a two -year term as a temporary member of the United Nations Security Council. Pakistan was elected a temporary member of the Security Council for a two -year term in January 2025.

Which programs will Pakistan host?

Pakistan Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed said that these subjects reflect shared priorities such as multilateralism, preventive diplomacy and cooperation with regional organizations in promoting international peace and security. Also, the status of West Asia and the prominent global issues, including developments in Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America, will be focused.
Pakistani ambassador met Antonio Guterres
Ambassador Iftikhar has already met UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres and has informed them about the action plan of the Security Council in July. The Pakistani ambassador said in an interview, “As a country that has constantly conversed and diplomat, Pakistan brings theoretical and balanced view in the work of the Security Council. This will be based on Pakistan’s contribution to the peace efforts of the United Nations. Earlier, Pakistan was a temporary member of the Security Council during 2012-13, 2003-04, 1983-84, 1976-77, 1968-69 and 1952-53. (Language)
