Transgender soldiers will be evacuated from the US Army.
Washington: The US Ministry of Defense Pentagon issued a new order on Thursday, under which 1000 transgender soldiers will be immediately removed from the army. The order also states that the rest will have to tell their transgender identity in 30 days. Encouraged by the Supreme Court’s decision on Tuesday, the Defense Department will now investigate medical records so that those who have not come forward. Explain that the court had allowed the Trump administration to implement military restrictions on transgender people. While releasing the new memo, Defense Secretary PT Hegaseth clarified his opinion after the court’s decision.
‘Now no more transgender in DOD’
Hegseth posted on X after the court’s decision, ‘Now there is no transgender in the dod’. Prior to the court’s decision, Hegseth had said in a special operation forces conference in Tampa, ‘There is no proony now. No dude in uniform now. We are fed up with all these things. Department officials say it is difficult to state how many transgender soldiers are, but medical records will reveal those who have a gender dysphoria diagnosis, which show symptoms or are being treated. Such soldiers will be forcefully expelled from the army, and no person with gender dysphoria diagnoses will be recruited.
52 million dollars spent in treatment
Explain that gender dysphoria occurs when a person’s biological sex does not match their gender identity. According to officials, as of 9 December 2024, there was a gender dysphoria diagnosis among 4,240 soldiers in active duty, national guards and reserves. Officials believe that this number may be more. It would be easy to detect gender dysphoria diagnosis as it will be in their medical records. A defense officer, on the condition of anonymity, said that between 2015 and 2024, a total of $ 52 million was spent for psychotherapy, gender-reforming hormone therapy, gender-finance surgery and other treatment.
