The increasing tension between India and Pakistan has now affected the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Seeing the situation deteriorating, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shifted the first match Karachi, then requested the UAE to hold the tournament, but also got a clear refusal from there. Eventually PCB had to suspend the remaining matches of PSL 2025. The board took this decision in the statement, describing the security of the country as the first priority.

The impact of the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan is now clearly visible on cricket. The first IPL 2025 was suspended for a week and now the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) has also had to be stopped between. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made an official announcement on Friday 9 May.

First PCB shifted the remaining PSL matches to Karachi from Rawalpindi, but when the situation worsened, it was tried to complete the tournament in the UAE. But here too, PCB got a big shock. According to reports, the UAE Cricket Board refused to host PSL.

In such a situation, PCB had no way left and they had to postpone the tournament indefinitely. The board said in its statement that the situation on LoC has become more serious in the last 24 hours. There have been incidents such as infiltration of 78 drones and missile attacks. In such a situation, the focus of the whole country is on security and not on cricket.

PCB showed solidarity with the country’s army, martyrs and their families and said that it is the right decision to stop cricket at this time. Also, the concern of foreign players and their families has also been taken into consideration.
