Rajasthan Polls: Sachin Pilot files nomination from Tonk, Congress leader speaks on CM’s face for the first time

Rajasthan Election 2023: Former Deputy CM of Rajasthan and senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot On Tuesday, he filed his nomination papers from Tonk constituency for the assembly elections to be held on November 25. Before filing nomination papers, Pilot offered prayers at Bhuteshwar Mahadev Temple. He took out a procession with supporters from Bada Kuan to Patel Circle in Tonk city. During this time he was welcomed at many places.

During this, while talking to journalists, Pilot said that he has no differences with CM Ashok Gehlot. He also said that after the victory, Congress MLAs and party leadership will decide who will be the next Chief Minister of the state.

Let us tell you that Pilot is currently the MLA from Tonk. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet announced the candidate for Tonk seat. The last date for filing nomination papers in the state is November 6.

Pilot had won the Tonk seat in the 2018 assembly elections by defeating BJP’s Yunus Khan by over 54,000 votes. Voting for 200 assembly seats in the state is to be held simultaneously on November 25. Whereas the counting of votes will take place on December 3.

In response to a question, Sachin Pilot said that we (Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot) have neither any differences of opinion, nor differences, nor any faction. We are working closely with Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge… There is no tradition of announcing faces in our party. After victory, the MLA and party leadership decide who will lead.

He said that right now we all are busy trying to make the party win. The Congress leader said that this is a public election and the atmosphere is in favor of the Congress. Pilot said that people have seen the functioning of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

9 nominations filed on the first day

With the release of notification on Monday for the assembly elections in Rajasthan, the process of filling nomination papers has started. On the first day, 8 candidates have filed 9 nomination papers for 8 assembly constituencies in the state.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta told PTI that after the notification of election schedule for all 200 assembly seats in the state was issued on October 30, on the first day in the state, 7 candidates filed their nominations from Ganganagar, Garhi, Bhilwara, Behror, Bansur, Nokha and Chaurasi assembly constituencies. One nomination paper each for the areas and two nomination papers were filed by a candidate in Ghatol assembly constituency.

He informed that the last date for filing nomination papers is November 6. Nomination papers will not be filed on Sunday 5th November. He informed that the nomination process will start from 11 am in the morning and will continue till 3 pm. Scrutiny of nomination forms will be done on 7th November. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is November 9.
