Bhopal. Dr. Mohan Yadav, who was unanimously elected leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party Legislative Party in Madhya Pradesh, will now be the new Chief Minister of the state. Born on March 25, 1965 in Ujjain, Yadav is holding the responsibility of Higher Education Minister in the current Shivraj Singh Chauhan cabinet and has been elected once again from Ujjain South Assembly constituency. Fifty-eight year old Yadav, who received education from Vikram University, Ujjain, has completed B.Sc., LLB, MA in Political Science and MBA. He has also done PhD.
Dr. Yadav's father's name is Poonamchand Yadav and his wife's name is Seema Yadav. He has two sons and a daughter. He has great interest in tourism, culture, history, science and sports.
Dr Yadav's entry into political life coincided with the student union elections at Madhav Science College in Ujjain in 1982, when he was elected joint secretary. After this, he joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in 1984 and handled many important responsibilities. After this he also became active in BJP and was also Ujjain Nagar District General Secretary from 2000 to 2003.
In the year 2013, he became the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation and was given the status of Cabinet Minister. He became MLA from Ujjain South Assembly constituency in the year 2013 and has been representing this area since then. He became the Higher Education Minister of the state on July 2, 2020 in the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government and has been handling this responsibility till now.
Yadav became emotional after being elected leader in the BJP Legislature Party meeting here today and in this state, he accepted everyone's greetings from the stage and gave a short address.
