Secretary asked for bribe to get benefits of PM Awas and Kanyadan Yojana, Jabalpur Lokayukta caught red handed
Jabalpur/Katni. Jabalpur’s Lokayukta team caught the Panchayat Secretary red handed taking a bribe of five thousand rupees in Reethi on Friday, October 4. Secretary Surendra Mohan Mishra is posted in Deori Kala Panchayat of Rithi District Panchayat. The Secretary had asked for bribe from a beneficiary in the name of getting the last installment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana released and money for Kanyadaan Yojana.
The complainant, 25-year-old Mahipal Chaudhary, is a resident of Deori Kala. Gram Panchayat Secretary Surendra Mohan Mishra had asked Mahipal to get the last installment of the house approved under the Pradhan Mantri Yojana and to get the amount of Rs 49 thousand to be given under the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana. A bribe of five thousand rupees was demanded in exchange for the work. The troubled beneficiary had complained about the matter to Lokayukta Jabalpur.
Lokayukta team caught red handed
After verifying the case, SP Lokayukta sent a Reethi team under the leadership of Inspector Rekha Prajapati on Friday. Mahipal called the Secretary to the SBI Kiosk Bank located in Reethi to deposit the amount. As soon as she gave five thousand rupees as bribe to Secretary Surendra Mohan, the Lokayukta team caught her red handed and took her to the Gram Panchayat Rethi office. Where the action is going on.
