If you also go to the peak hours by going by the taxi of other cab aggregators including Ola-uber, then get ready to pay more money further. States have been advised to adopt the revised guidelines within three months in this regard.
How will the dead mileage be compensated?
According to the news, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said in its ‘Motor Vehicles Agree Gyriers Guidelines 2025’ that the aggregator will be allowed to charge at least 50 percent less than the base fare and a maximum of two-fold the base fare specified under sub-clause (17.1). In addition, the base fare will be taken for at least three kilometers for the replenishment of dead mileage – which includes the distance traveled without a passenger and the fuel used to take the travelers (s).
Passenger and driver will then be fined
According to the guidelines, the state government will have a schedule fare for the related category of motor vehicles or the base fare from passengers serving from the aggregator. In the case of cancellation, if the cancellation is done by the aggregator without giving a valid cause, the driver will be fined 10 percent of the fare, which would not exceed Rs 100. A similar fine will be imposed on the passenger for cancellation without a valid reason. It states that the central government will develop and nominate a portal for a single-window approval of the application for license as an aggregator.
Drivers need to have health and term insurance
It has been said by the ministry that the license fee payable by the Agriculture will be Rs 5 lakh and will be valid for a period of five years from the date of issuance of license. The aggregators have been made mandatory to ensure that drivers have health and term insurance of at least Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively. The guidelines also states that a complaint officer will be appointed by the aggregator. The aggregator will not associate such vehicles with them, which have been registered for more than eight years from the date of early registration of the vehicle.
