Should the phone location be closed due to fear of drone attack? Learn the truth of advisory

India Pakistan Tension: Many types of rumors are being spread on social media during the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Hundreds of drone attacks were carried out by Pakistan on the night of 8 and 9 May, which was deactivated by India’s air defense system. Meanwhile, a message related to drone attack is being shared on social media, in which users are being asked to discontinue the location of their phone.
Lies being spread in the name of drone attack
PIB’s fact check team has described this claim being spread on social media as false and asked people to avoid rumors. In the fake messages to be shared, it is being claimed that people should stop the location of their phone to avoid drone attack. Due to the closure of the location, drones will not be able to track them. It is also being claimed in this message that the densely populated area can be detected due to the location on the location.
The message shared is being spread in the name of the advisory of this Government of India. This message is claiming, “We have been issued an advisory in an email that people should turn off the location of their phone, so that drones can track densely populated areas.”
PIB’s fact check team said that no such advisory has been issued by the government. This message is completely fake. With its X handle, PIB’s fact check team has written that a message in the name of the government’s advisory is going viral, which is completely baseless. The government has not issued any such advisory. At the same time, people have been advised to avoid the propoganda spreading Pakistan -backed confusion.
