Simple Dot One electric scooter will be launched on December 15

Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy has announced that it will launch a new electric scooter called Dot One on December 15. The company claims that the Dot One will be priced under Rs 1 lakh, which puts it in the crosshairs of the Ola S1.

This will essentially be the One e-scooter without a removable battery pack, with a battery capacity of 3.7kWh and a claimed IDC range of 160 km. While output figures are secret, the Dot One may use a slightly less powerful motor than the One’s unit which is rated for a claimed 8.5kW and 72Nm.

There is not much information about Simple.one,
But it is unlikely to be much different in appearance than the forest. According to the company, it will have ‘more than 30 litres’ of storage, although the exact figure has not been mentioned.

Simple says that the Dot One will use a touchscreen TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity and it could be the same unit as the One, as both the scooters share the same platform according to the company.

In its literature, Simple uses both launch and debut, which makes things a little ambiguous. We will report on this on December 15, when Dot One will break cover. Currently, Simple has distributed only 40 One electric scooters across India since its launch in May 2023.
