New Delhi, 28 November (HS). Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi has released a video message, in which she has appealed to the voters of Telangana to vote for the Congress Party. In her message, Sonia said, “I urge my sisters, brothers, sons and daughters of Telangana to vote for change.”
The election campaign for Telangana state is going to stop today. Voting will be held in Telangana on 30 November. The former Congress President has apologized for the fact that she could not reach out to the people of Telangana. She said that she is grateful for the love and respect she has received as Amma. Vote for an honest government to fulfill the dreams of Telangana.
It is noteworthy that Telangana emerged as a new state in 2014. Fulfilling the long standing demand, the then Congress government had separated Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi), which was agitating for a separate Telangana state, formed the first government in the state. In 2018 also the same party returned to power.
