Sonipat: Counting of six assembly constituencies in BITS College, 250 personnel deployed outside the strong room.
The future of the candidates for the assembly elections in Sonipat, Haryana has been sealed in EVMs. Counting of votes will take place on October 8. For this, preparations were made by the administration on Monday. 14 tables each will be set up for counting of votes in all the assembly constituencies. At present, after the completion of the voting process, EVMs and VVPAT machines have been kept under three-tier security of Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) and Police.
EVM and VVPAT machines of six assembly constituencies of Sonipat have been kept in six strong rooms built in BITS College, Mohana.
DC Dr. Manoj Kumar said that strong rooms have been prepared as per the instructions of the Election Commission. The entire process of placing EVM and VVPAT machines in the strong room and sealing the room has been videographed. All doors and windows have been sealed. All strong rooms were double locked. The security of the strong room has been made a three-tier security cordon.
250 personnel have been deployed for the security of the strong room built in BITS. A three-tier cordon has been made. BSF soldiers are deployed in the first circle. IRB personnel have been deployed in the second circle. Haryana Police personnel have been deployed in the third circle.
