Business News Desk, There will be a holiday in the stock market tomorrow i.e. 1st May (Wednesday). This is a holiday in addition to the weekly holiday of Saturday and Sunday. The market will be closed tomorrow i.e. on 1st May on the occasion of Maharashtra Day. After this, apart from the weekly holiday in the month of May, there will be one more holiday for the market. Apart from Saturday and Sunday, there will be one day off in June, July, August and October. There will be no trading on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on this day.

Information about these holidays has already been given on the websites of both the exchanges i.e. NSE and BSE. According to the information given on the websites of the exchanges, all trading activities in the equity segment, equity derivative segment and SLB segment in the stock market will be closed for 1 day in May.

When will be the next holiday in May?

Now this month, domestic stock markets will be closed on 20th May (Monday) on the occasion of Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai. There will be no trading in equity segment, equity derivative segment and SLB segment on both the exchanges on this day. This information has also been given on the exchanges that there will be no work in the currency derivatives segment on May 1.

Is the commodity market also closed?

According to the list of holidays in the stock market in the year 2024, morning trading i.e. trading from 9 am to 5 pm in the commodity and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segments will be closed on May 1 (Wednesday) on the occasion of Maharashtra Day. But, trading will remain open for the evening session on MCX. Trading will continue in the commodity derivatives segment and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segment for the session from 5 pm to 9 am. Trading will remain closed for both morning and evening sessions on the National Commodity Exchange i.e. NCDEX.

When will the stock market be closed this year?
Apart from weekly holidays, now domestic stock markets will remain closed for a total of 8 days in 2024. Stock markets will remain closed for 1 day each in May-June, July-August and October. Apart from this, the market will be closed for 2 days in the month of November. Whereas, the market will be closed for 1 day in the month of December.
