Tata Motors has a series of new electric vehicles to launch in the Indian market. The electric punch is the first in line for the Indian carmaker's upcoming EV and we have already spotted the production-ready test model on the roads several times. According to the latest reports, the Punch EV will be launched in India by the end of January 2024.

While many new details have already been revealed from the test prototype, information about the powertrain is still under wraps. In terms of design most elements of the regular petrol-powered Punch will be retained with new blue high highlights reflecting its eco-friendly tag.

However, the front fascia of the Punch will get a major makeover in its electric version which will be inspired by the design of the Nexon EV facelift. This will include a new set of new LED headlamps, an updated EV-specific grille and an LED light bar running across the full width. Apart from this, this will be the first Tata EV which will have a charging socket on the front profile.

A new set of alloy wheels will also be part of the package. The rear profile is expected to get a new set of LED tail lamps with a connected treatment. These cosmetic changes on the Tata Punch EV can be carried forward to the regular ICE Punch through a facelift update.

Talking about feature upgrades, the Punch EV gets all-wheel disc brakes, new 10.25-inch infotainment system with Arcade.EV integration, fully digital instrument cluster, Tata's latest two-spoke steering wheel with backlit logo and more will get.

The Punch EV will be based on Tata Motors' Gen 2 Sigma architecture, which is a more electric-friendly version of the existing ALFA platform. We expect the Citroen eC3 rival to get a battery pack of around 30 kWh capacity with an estimated range of 350 kilometers on a single charge. Additionally, an affordable version with a relatively smaller battery pack and lower range is likely to be introduced.
