The wait for rain and snowfall increased in Himachal, clouds will not rain in the plains for a week
Shimla. Winter is wreaking havoc in Himachal Pradesh and the mercury remains below zero in many places. However, the wait of the people of the state for rain and snowfall has now increased further. According to the latest forecast released by the Meteorological Department on Monday, there is no possibility of rain and snowfall in most areas of the state for the next one week. In the next 24 hours, there may be isolated light snowfall only in the high mountain areas. From December 4 to 8, the weather will be dry in the entire state and dry cold will increase the problems of the people.
Director of Meteorological Center, Shimla, Kuldeep Srivastava said that there will be no major change in the weather of the state for the next one week. The weather will remain clear in most parts of the state and the temperature will drop gradually. The impact of winter is likely to increase especially in tribal areas. He said that there is no possibility of rain in the plains till December 8. He also said that the state’s hill stations Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, McLeodganj will have to wait longer for the first snowfall of the season. Meanwhile, due to lack of rain for a long time, drought situation has arisen in many districts. This has not only affected the Rabi crop during winter but has also affected the tourism business along with drinking water and irrigation schemes.
It is colder in the plains than in Shimla.
Meanwhile, dry weather continued in most parts of the state on Monday also. Its effect is visible on the maximum temperature of the state. The day temperature remains normal especially in the plains. But the sting of cold is increasing at night. The plains of Una, Mandi and Bilaspur are cooler than Shimla. According to the Meteorological Department report, the minimum temperature in Shimla was recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius on Monday. Whereas in Una and Bilaspur it was 5.2 degree, 5.5 degree and 6.3 degree Celsius respectively. Apart from this, 4.7 in Sundernagar, 2.6 in Bhuntar, 3.5 in Solan, 5.5 in Palampur, 3.1 in Manali, 6.5 in Kangra, 8.2 in Jubbarhatti, 4.6 in Bharmour, 2.3 in Seobag, 3.8 in Barthin, 7 in Sarahan and Dharamshala and Dehra Gopipur. It was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius.
Mercury in minus at four places
The mercury was recorded in minus four places in the tribal districts of the state. Tabo in tribal district Lahaul-Spiti was the coldest place, where the minimum temperature was -6.5 degrees, Kukumseri -6.2 degrees, Samdho -3.9 degrees and Kalpa in Kinnaur -0.8 degrees Celsius. During the last 24 hours, the average minimum temperature in the state has dropped by -0.3 degrees Celsius.
