The weather department had predicted
Even before the onset of winter, the Meteorological Department had predicted that this year it would be colder than every other time. This prediction will start coming true with the beginning of December. Many people have a question in their mind that what is so special about this year that winter is going to break all records. Actually, there is only one answer to all these questions – La Nina effect.
What is La Nina effect?
This year, La Nina effect was seen in the Pacific Ocean. Usually, when the Pacific Ocean is colder than normal, cold winds move towards Asian countries. Its impact is not only in India but also in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. In these countries the weather becomes extremely cold and the temperature starts falling rapidly.
When was the last time La Nina effect seen?
This is not the first time that La Nina effect is being seen in India. Even before this, during the winter of 2001, the effect of La Nina effect was visible, which lasted for 7 months. Now after 22 years, La Nina effect has once again made a comeback in winter.
There will be severe cold for 3 months
According to the latest reports, 60 percent impact of La Nina effect in the Pacific Ocean will be seen in India. La Nina effect will be at its peak especially in the months of December, January and February. These three months are going to be very challenging for the people of North India.
