Indian Army: In the Indian Army and Air Force, some famous cricketers have been appointed at a big rank, whose monthly salary scale is said to be from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.

These ranks include prestigious degrees like Group Captain and Lieutenant Colonel, which the common citizens are filled with pride. But when the cricketers sitting on these positions are seen on the field, but not on the duty of the army, then the question is bound to arise.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was given an honorary degree of Lieutenant Colonel under the ‘Territorial Army’ in the Indian Army. He completed basic training with para forces in 2015 and also took training to jump from parachutes.

Despite this, they do not get any salary for this post in the Indian Army as it is an honorary rank. This honor was given to him for his achievements in sports, not for regular service.

Sachin Tendulkar is the Group Captain of Air Force

Cricket’s great batsman Sachin Tendulkar was given the honorary rank of Group Captain by the Indian Air Force in 2010. The salary scale of this rank is between about 1.3 lakh and 2.15 lakh rupees, but Tendulkar is not paid any payment in return.

Kapil Dev also got respect from Indian Army

Kapil Dev, who won the World Cup to India in 1983, has also been awarded the honorary rank of ‘Lieutenant Colonel’ in the Indian Army. On this rank, a regular officer gets salary up to 2 lakhs, but Kapil Dev is not given any kind of salary.

He has been given this title from the Indian Army to increase his contribution and national pride in cricket and not for military service. The titles given to these cricketers are completely ‘honorary’.

The ‘honorary’ honor received from the Indian Army is the meaning of honor. Only honor, not any duty or salary. The salary that is discussed in social media and some reports is just a possible government scale of that rank, not the actual income of these players.
