This special fungus slowly starts eating the brain, you will be surprised to know, scientists revealed
Science News Desk, Elderly people often say that now their memory has reduced. He tries to remember, but he doesn’t remember anything. There is also difficulty in speaking. Medical science has called this type of problem Alzheimer’s. The question is what is the reason behind Alzheimer’s disease. After all, what chemical reaction occurs in the brain that causes amnesia?
Relationship between amyloid protein and brain cells
The connection between amyloid proteins and neurons is thought to be one of the main causes of Alzheimer’s disease. Till now it was believed that brain cells do not function effectively due to stress or inflammation inside the brain. In recent years, autopsies of the brains of patients suffering from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s revealed that certain fungi were responsible. After this it was concluded that external factors are more responsible for Alzheimer’s than internal factors.
rat study
It is generally said that weak or destroyed brain cells i.e. neurons are responsible for Alzheimer’s disease. The second question here is: If brain cells begin to age as the body ages, what are the factors that affect these cells? A study has shown that certain fungi cause toxic substances to be produced in the brain and due to this the brain cells are affected. Let us tell you that this experiment was done on rats.
Research at Baylor College of Medicine
Some experts from Baylor College of Medicine in the United States started a study on rats to find out the cause of Alzheimer’s. Earlier, a study was conducted in the same institute on a rat which was facing the problem of memory loss. However, when the C. albicans fungus was removed from his brain, he recovered. To further confirm these results, the researchers injected C. albicans directly into the brains of mice. After a few days, its brain was studied and it was found that the rat’s memory was fading.
