Trump threatens BRICS countries, will impose 100% tariff if new currency is created
Washington, December 1 (HS). America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has threatened the BRICS countries on Saturday. Trump has threatened that if the BRICS countries come up with a new currency of their own and do not trade with the US dollar, then 100 percent tariff can be imposed on them. BRICS member countries include India along with Russia, China, Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, UAE and Ethiopia.
Newly elected President Donald Trump has shown his attitude even before assuming office. ‘We need a commitment from these countries that they will neither create a new BRICS currency, nor withdraw another currency to replace the powerful US dollar, or subject them to 100% tariffs,’ Trump wrote on the media platform Truth Social. Will have to face. Or we will have to say goodbye to the American market.
Along with this he wrote, ‘Such countries can look for some other market. There is no possibility that BRICS will replace the US dollar in international trade and any country that tries to do so should say goodbye to America.
The special thing is that in recent months, BRICS countries are considering their new currency or other options instead of the US dollar. Only last month, BRICS summit was held in which the new currency was discussed. But after this threat from Donald Trump, BRICS countries have been forced to think once again.
It is noteworthy that earlier on Monday, Trump announced that as soon as he takes office, he will impose 25 percent tariff on all products coming from Canada and Mexico. He said he would keep the tariffs in place until both countries stop the flow of drugs and immigrants from their territories into the US illegally.
