Siliguri, 05 November (HS). Two accused have been arrested by the police of Panitanki outpost of Kharibari division along with lakhs of rupees in cash and brown sugar. The names of the arrested accused are Chandan Burman and Uppal Das. Both are residents of the area under the police station.
According to sources, on a secret information late on Monday night, the police of Kharibari Panitanki post raided the house of Chandan Burman in Gaursingh holding attached to Panitanki on the India-Nepal border. On searching the house, police found three grams of brown sugar and Rs 1 lakh 74 thousand in cash. After which the police started intensive interrogation of Chandan. After which the name of Uppal Das came up. Later the police also arrested Uppal. By registering a case against both the accused under the NDPS Act, Panitanki outpost police have started further action.
