UAE made a big upset by defeating Sri Lanka, Bangladesh defeated Japan badly
In the Under-19 Asia Cup being played in Dubai, Group B matches were played on 11 November. In the seventh match of the tournament, UAE defeated Sri Lanka by 2 wickets, while in the eighth match, Bangladesh registered a big win against Japan by 9 wickets.
In today's first match, after losing the toss, Sri Lanka got the chance to bat first and the team scored 220/9 after playing full 50 overs. However, no batsman could play a big innings for Sri Lanka and only Dinura Kaluphana scored an unbeaten 56 runs while scoring a half-century. Captain Sineth Jayawardene also scored an inning of 49 runs. For UAE, Omid Rehman and captain Ayaan Afzal Khan took two wickets each.
In response to the target, UAE scored 224/8 in 48.2 overs and won the match. Tanish Suri played the highest innings of 75 runs for the team. Ayaan Afzal Khan also scored 33 runs. However, at one point the score was 213/8 but Ammar Badami (17*) and Ayman Ahmed (10*) did not allow Sri Lanka to register a win. Sri Lankan bowler Garuka Sanket took the maximum of three wickets.
Japan's one-sided defeat in front of Bangladesh
In the second match, Bangladeshi bowlers gave a tremendous performance by inviting Japan to bat first. The Japanese team played 47.1 overs but could not even cross the 100 mark and were all out after scoring 99. Bangladesh used seven bowlers and all were successful in taking wickets.
Bangladesh had a tremendous start in chasing the target of 100 and the team's openers added 71 runs. Zeeshan Alam was out after scoring 29 runs in 16 balls. The second opener Ashikur Rahman Shibli scored a half-century and scored unbeaten 55 runs in 45 balls along with Mohammad Rizwan (10*) and led the team to victory.
