Meerut: In a shocking incident reported from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, a retired jawan opened fire on a tourist bus and injured a student studying in Noida. The incident took place after the jawan indulged in an argument with a Zomato delivery guy.

According to reports, the retired jawan’s car touched with the delivery agent’s bike and this led to an argument between the two. The enraged retired jawan then opens fire from his licensed pistol. The incident took place on Pallavpuram flyover on NH 58 on Sunday night.

The accused jawan has been identified as Nitin Sirohi. One of the bullets fired by Nitin nearly touched a student named Harshit and slightly injured. The bus which bore the brunt of the fire was coming from Haridwar and carried some students.

How the incident happened

As per Meerut police, after the retired jawan’s car brushed with the delivery agent’s bike, he started to scold him. The bus coming from Haridwar side passed from the spot, but after seeing the argument between the two, the students got down from the bus and started taking favour of delivery agent. This upset the retired jawan and he threatened them with his pistol.

The former jawan then fired on the bus injuring one of the student.

Panic after firing

Following firing, a panic took place at the spot forcing people to flee. The jawan fired five round at the bus. Police have now arrested the jawan, said DSP Shuchita Singh. Police have also booked the accused and seized his pistol.
