(Update) Price of commercial gas cylinder increased for the 5th consecutive month, no change in the price of domestic gas.
– Commercial gas cylinder became costlier by more than Rs 172 in 5 months
New Delhi, 1 December (Hindustan Reporter). The price of LPG gas cylinder has increased once again. The increased price of the cylinder has come into effect from today itself. This increase has happened in the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder. The price of commercial gas cylinder has been increased for the fifth consecutive month. According to the increased price, now the price of commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased from Rs 1,802 to Rs 1,818.50.
Like Delhi, commercial cylinders are available in other parts of the country at increased prices from today. Apart from Delhi, among other metro cities, the price of 19 kg LPG gas cylinder in Kolkata has increased from Rs 1,911.50 to Rs 1,927. Similarly, the price of commercial gas cylinder in Mumbai has increased from Rs 1,754.50 to Rs 1,771. The price of commercial gas cylinder in Chennai has increased from Rs 1,964.50 to Rs 1,980.50 per cylinder.
While the price of commercial gas cylinder has been increased for the fifth time, there has been no change in the price of domestic gas cylinder i.e. LPG weighing 14.2 kg. The price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG gas cylinder was last revised in August last year. At that time the price of LPG had reduced by Rs 100 per cylinder. After that, there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg gas cylinder for a period of about one and a half years. Due to no change in the price, domestic LPG cylinder is available at Rs 803 in Delhi, while in Chennai its price remains at the level of Rs 818.50. Similarly, in Mumbai, a 14.2 kg gas cylinder is available for Rs 802.50 and in Kolkata, a domestic gas cylinder is available for Rs 829.
It is noteworthy that 14.2 kg gas cylinder is used for cooking in homes, whereas commercial gas cylinder is used in non-domestic places like restaurants, poultry, industries, transportation etc. The price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder was last reduced 5 months ago in the month of July. On July 1, 2024, the price of commercial LPG gas cylinder in Delhi was Rs 1,646. However, the price of commercial LPG gas cylinder has been continuously increasing since the month of August, due to which its price in Delhi has increased by Rs 172.50 in the last 5 months.
